The Road

It has been said that I like depressing books. Since this book is depressing, one can assume that I liked it, which I very much did. This book is about a boy and his father at what seems to be the end of the world trying to survive. I read this book within 36 hours, which is a good sign to how much I enjoyed it.
If you don't mind crying a little while you read I definitely recommend this book.

Mostly Harmless

I just finished The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series. Mostly Harmless ended the series quite nicely. Now that the series is over I can't decide which one is my favorite.
This book makes the total of books read this year 8. I only need to read 11 more to beat last year. That means I need to get a move on it. I am going to go read right now.

So Long, And Thanks For All The Fish

As advertised, I am reading more since school ended for the summer. I just finished So Long, And Thanks For All The Fish, it is the fourth book in the Douglas Adams series that I have been reading. I think this might be my favorite in the series, but I will get back to you after I read the last one. There is not much that I can add to what I have said in previous posts about Douglas Adams and his brilliant writing.
I have often thought that I should add a synopses in my posts about the books that I have read, but honestly that wouldn't do any book justice. There is so much more to get out of a book then a summary. It has more to do with where you are at when you read a book. Not just location, but place in life. I never have the same experience when I read a book again and I am sure that I would have a different experience than you reading the same book. All that I can do by posting this is perhaps giving you a glimpse of what I have been pondering about lately and maybe give someone an idea of some good books to check out themselves.

Painting the bedroom

I know most of my posts are about the books that I have read. This is mostly because all I have done lately is work and school, with the occasional reading. And I am pretty sure no one wants to read posts about homework. Luckily this semester ended, so I have time to do other things and read more! This weekend the other things were my birthday and painting our bedroom. I always have these big ideas to do for the house and I forget how much work is involved. I had planned on painting the bathroom too, but I need a break from painting at least for a few days.

These are the before pictures.

These are the after.

Life, the Universe, and Everything

I am behind on my reading this year. This book makes six. For my defense I have been very busy with full time work and full time school. I fully anticipate I will catch up with my reading this summer.
As I have written before I love Douglas Adams. Life, the Universe, and Everything was another great book by him. It is funny and cleaver. There are two more books in this series and I am so glad summer starts in less than a week so I can finish the series!

The Restaurant at the end of the Universe

The Restaurant at the end of the Universe did not disappoint. This is the second book in the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series and it was as good as I had hoped it to be. There are five books in this series and I am sure I will enjoy every minute of it.
Douglas Adams has to be in my top five favorite authors, what am I saying, he is definitely in my top two. As I said before he was a genius. If you are in the mood for some smart comedy read this series.

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

Life has been crazy lately, so I needed a light comedy. I have read this before, but I had not read the other books in this series which I very much want to. And like with all series I like to reread the others I have already read before continuing on.
DON'T PANIC! is often what I think about when I am at work or school and it is what is on my banner on my phone for the last few years. I got it from this book along with some other amazing advice including don't forget your towel and how many roads must a man walk down. Douglas Adams was a genius and he used that to write brilliant comedy. What a great book and I am so excited to read the other books in the series.
